General information
The purpose of the Department of Family, Youth and Sports is to promote the implementation of state policy on family affairs, youth affairs, physical culture and sports in the city of Lutsk and to create favorable conditions for physical, intellectual and spiritual development of all age groups of the residents to ensure their equal rights and opportunities, creation of favorable conditions for functioning of the institutions, organizations and enterprises in the field of physical culture and sports in the city of Lutsk.
The Department of Family, Youth and Sports of Lutsk City Council is in charge of the following institutions:
- municipal Institution “Patriotic Education Center for Children and Youth of the city of Lutsk”;
- municipal Institution "Physical Health Center for the Residents «Sport for All» of the Lutsk City Council";
- municipal Institution "Lutsk Specialized Children's and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Swimming Reserve of the Lutsk City Council";
- Children and Youth Sports School №3 of Lutsk City Council.
Within its competence, the Department performs the following functions:
- implementation of state policy on family, youth, physical culture and sports at the local level;
- organizing and conducting sports events, promoting the development of the Olympic and Paralympic movements, promotion of healthy lifestyle, preventing the occure of negative situations among the residents;
- comprehensive support and development of various sports types in Lutsk;
- promoting the functionality of children's and youth non-governmental organizations, as well as federations, associations and other non-profit organizations;
- implementation of measures aimed at creating the necessary conditions for social development of the youth and development of youth initiatives.
