A seminar-training “Ways and methods of the heritage preservation of historical cities: Trakai experience to Lutsk" took place in Lutsk.
On August 6-7, 2019 the delegation from Trakai represented by architects, scientists from Vilnius, heads of the Trakai Historical National Park and Tarkai Tourist Information Center visited Lutsk to take part in seminar-training “Ways and methods of the heritage preservation of historical cities: Trakai experience to Lutsk" to share their experience in preserving the heritage of historic cities with Lutsk historians, scientists and officials. The visit of the Lithuanian delegation to Lutsk became possible due to the joint project “Cultural heritage guarantee of freedom for human and state - the experience of Lithuania and Ukraine”, which was implemented within the framework of the Program for the Promotion and Development of Democracy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania. The project partners were the Executive Committee of Lutsk City Council and Trakai Municipality.
According to the Head of the Project Cooperation Division of International Cooperation and Project Activities Department of Lutsk City Council Oksana Savchuk, the seminar in Lutsk was the second stage in the implementation of this project that had been initiated by Lithuanian side.
“In May, the delegation from Lutsk visited Trakai. Now it is our turn to acquaint Lithuanians with Old Lutsk”, said Oksana Savchuk. She added that the project was soft so it only involved two exchange visits but it gave a good start for establishing a strong collaboration between our cities.
