Lutsk City Day began with greetings from representatives of the official delegations
On 7 September Lutsk celebrated the 934th anniversary of its foundation and the 590th anniversary of the Congress of European monarchs.
Traditionally festivities began with ceremonial reception of representatives of the official delegations. 11 foreign delegations from Poland, Lithuania and Germany visited our city. Our Ukrainian partners from Ternopil, Uzhhorod, Odesa, Dubno, Ostroh, Volnovakha, Varash, Kovel, Novovolynsk, Volodymyr-Volynskyi, Kniahynynok also came to congratulate Lutsk citizens on the occasion of the City Day.
Acting Mayor, Secretary of Lutsk City Council Hryhorii Pustovit welcomed all the guests in Lutsk. He noted that it was extremely pleasant that so many guests came to celebrate 934th anniversary of the City Day and 590th anniversary of the Congress of European monarchs together with Lutsk citizens.
“Today is our joint holiday. Our city is very young, it’s only 934 years since the first written mention. But our history is full of historic events. Our city was the capital of the Principality of Galicia-Volhynia. It was among the capitals of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Now it is the capital of Volyn region. Today with great inspiration we are meeting our friends here. No one can live in this world without friends and partners. It’s very nice to see all of you on our Birthday. We highly appreciate your friendship and desire to support in different situations.” - he added.
The representatives of the official delegations congratulated the city authorities and Lutsk citizens on the occasion of the celebrations and presented gifts.
