Lutsk city territorial community will receive a grant to manage the landfill in Bryshche
A successful partnership between Lutsk and the Lippe District has resulted in one more joint international grant project which will be implemented in the field of waste management.
Within the project new facilities for leachate treatment at the landfill in the village Bryshche will be installed. It is also planned to improve the organic waste management in the community by conducting an information campaign on composting different types of organic waste and its further reuse; purchasing composters for 20 community schools for both practical and didactic purposes.
The project also stipulates the development of a concept for organic waste management in the Lutsk city territorial community, two visits to Lutsk of German experts and a visit of specialists in the field of waste management of Lutsk CTC to the Lippe District.
The project budget is 310,500.89 euros, of which 244,170.89 euros - grant funds, 66,330.00 euros - funding from the community budget.
Lutsk City Council won the grant in an open competition and will receive it under the program " Partnership Projects for Sustainable Local Development - NAKOPA 2020". The donor is the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, represented by Engagement Global gGmbH and the Service Agency Communities in One World, The project started on March 15, 2021 and will be under implementation until April 30, 2023.
