Lutsk has celebrated 29th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine
On August, 24 a celebration of the 29th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine took place in Lutsk. The festive events on the Theater Square were attended by First Deputy Mayor Hryhorii Nedopad, Deputy Mayors Kostiantyn Petrochuk and Iryna Chebeliuk, Advisor to the Mayor Ihor Polishchuk, representatives of regional authorities and clergy, executive bodies of Lutsk City Council and other city institutions.
The festivities began with honoring those who had given their lives for the Motherland. The leaders of the city and region authorities and Lutsk residents laid flowers at the photo stand "Heaven's Hundred Heroes who died for the Unity of Ukraine". The celebrations continued with the concert. After the concert bike enthusiasts were able to take part in a festive bike ride around the city.
On the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine, the Department of Family, Youth and Sports of the Lutsk City Council together with city NGOs held a number of activities at the Lutsk City Youth Center. In particular, for the youngest guests there was a master class on painting pottery "Summer Colors" from the public organization "Star of Hope", as well as a master class on making hand-made textile toys from the Art location "Creative Kaleidoscope". A poetic evening "It’s not autumn yet" during which both experienced poets and poet amateurs read their poems attracted a lot of visitors.
The celebrations ended with a film about independence of our country.
