New life of the Old City: fast and effective steps to improve the historical part of the city of Lutsk have been presented

On Febryary 12, 2020 in the conference hall of the Center for Administrative Services in Lutsk a meeting on the development and reconstruction of the Old City was held, during which practical, effective and quick steps to restore the historic part of our city were discussed. The meeting was attended by First Deputy Mayor Hryhorii Nedopad, Deputy Mayor Kostiantyn Petrochuk, Advisor to the Mayor Ihor Polishchuk, representatives of the executive bodies of the City Council, public organizations and specialists in the field of history and architecture.
At the meeting it was noted that the old part of our city needs serious renovation to make it more tourist-attractive. Therefore, a number of measures have been developed which includes by the end of 2020: overhaul of the Drahomanova and  Kafedralna Streets with the restoration of the stone pavement and renovation of the street lighting.
The "Center of Medieval Culture", which will operate on the basis of the sports club for medieval martial arts "Aina Bera", will become a unique object. It will harmoniously complement the reconstructed square with sculptures of Mykola Holovan on Drahomanova Street and the Chartoryski Tower with dungeons under the Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, which are currently being renovated as part of the project "New Life of the Old Town: Revitalization of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Lublin and Lutsk".
Among the other plans are: announcement of the investment tender for the reconstruction of the premises of the former guest house of the Praislers (Kafedralna Street, 4), installment of the new lighting on the facade of the House of the Gospel (Lutheran Church), the Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul,  the renovated facade of the Territorial Center and overhaul and lighting the territory of the dam, which stretches from Glushets Street through the Lesia Ukrainka Central Park to Zamkova Street,  with construction of a berth for boats on the River Styr.
