Project «1429: Congress of European Monarchs in Lutsk» extended until 2030
At the initiative of the Tourism and Promotion Department of the city, in cooperation with other departments of Lutsk City Council, museums, universities, local historians and scientists, the Center for Tourist Information and Services in 2020 will continue to promote a landmark event for our city - the Congress of European Monarchs. which took place in Lutsk in 1429.
The purpose of the educational project "1429: Congress of European Monarchs in Lutsk", launched last year on the occasion of the 590th anniversary of the event, is to acquaint Lutsk residents, Volynians, Ukrainians and foreign visitors with this event. In ten years, Lutsk will celebrate the 600th anniversary of the event, so, through the prism of promotional work and through the implementation of this project, preparations will continue for the large-scale anniversary celebration of the Congress.
The first public educational lectures of 2020 will take place in the Museum of the History of the Lutsk Brotherhood (Yova Kondzelevycha street, 5). The head of the museum, Olena Biryulina, will raise the following topics on 9 and 16 February: "Lutsk Congress of European Rulers in 1429. Design and implementation" and "Consequences of the Lutsk Congress or how the coronation competitions of 1429-1430 ended."
Reference: In 2019, as part of the celebration of the 590th anniversary of the Congress of European Monarchs in Lutsk, the educational project of public lectures, excursions, exhibitions, quests "1429: Congress of European Monarchs in Lutsk" was launched, and in 2020 continued. Lutsk residents and guests have a unique opportunity to learn why the Congress was organized, why it took place in Lutsk, about famous people of that period, as well as society, politics, religion, culture, music, painting, fashion and cuisine, etc.
