Prospects for the future cooperation between Ukrainian and German communities have been discussed during the conference in Odessa
On November 6-7, 2019 a delegation from the Lutsk City Council consisting of the Secretary of Lutsk City Council, acting Mayor Hryhorii Pustovit and Deputy Head of the International Cooperation and Project Activities Department, Head of the International Relations Division Anna Vintsiuk participated in the Fourth German-Ukrainian Partnership Conference in the city of Odessa. The event was organized by the nonprofit Engagement Global LLC/Service Agency "Communities in One World" in the framework of the Project "Partnerships with Cities of Ukraine" of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany.
The conference was attended by about 160 people from 69 Ukrainian and German сommunities bound by the partnership. The opportunities for receiving the funding support from the Government of Germany, grants and credit programs, experience in international cooperation and project implementation were discussed on the conference. Joint projects of the city of Lutsk and the Lippe District (Germany) were presented by Karl-Eitel John, Head of Administration at the Lippe District.
At the conference the Partnership Agreement between Lutsk and Lippe District on the implementation of the Project "Use of environmental and smart technologies in the public transport system of Lutsk" was signed . This document will regulate the mutual relations and financial commitments of both partners in the project implementation.
The practical block of the conference included working in groups on the subjects of local development, energy efficiency and local governance. Representatives of Lutsk took part in discussions on urban development issues.
The conference was a good opportunity to discuss the details on the implementation of a joint project on improving the quality of public transport services and outline plans for future cooperation between Lutsk and Lippe.
