Representatives of the Assosiation "Bridges of Friendship to Ukraine" visited Lutsk
On October, 15 the representatives of the Assosiation "Bridges of Friendship to Ukraine" paid a visit to Lutsk in the framework of the cooperation between Lutsk City Council and Lippe District (the Federal Republic of Germany). Oleksandr Mishchanchuk, a head of the Assosiation "Bridges of Friendship to Ukraine", Deputy Head of the Assosiation Rainer Topmöller (citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany) and Oleksandr Mishchuk, a representative of the Association in Volyn region met with Secretary of Lutsk City Council, Acting Mayor Hryhorii Pustovit, Director of Department of Culture Tetiana Hnativ, Head of Department of Education Zynoviia Leshchenko, Head of International Cooperation and Project Activities Department Victoriia Homonets, Deputy Head and Head of International Relations Department Anna Vintsiuk, City Council Member Alexander Lazuka.
Secretary of Lutsk City Council Hryhorii Pustovit greeted guests in Lutsk, thanked for fruitful cooperation and valuable experience the Lutsk residents received in the area of garbage disposal and waste management during the visits to Lippe District.
Hryhorii Pustovit got the guests acquainted with projects that are now being implemented in Lutsk - introducing electronic ticketing in public transport and establishing “smart bus stops”. Hryhorii Pustovit once again remembered late Karl Herman Krog, who was the founder of the "Bridges of Friendship to Ukraine" and made a lot of efforts to deepen the partnership and historical and cultural ties between Lutsk and Lippe District.
Oleksandr Mishchanchuk who was born in Lutsk but now lives in Germany and is in charge of the regional office of the Bridges of Friendship to Ukraine in Lipper District, said all the time he came to Lutsk he felt at home here. He pointed that the aim of their visit to Lutsk was to look for new ways of cooperation, new opportunities for sharing experiences so that each side could contribute something interesting and present themselves. “German’s youth organizations have made a significant contribution to the development of this cooperation. We are interested in exchanging student youth so that not only Ukrainian students could see German universities, but also students from Germany could come here, participate in local projects and initiatives. We are eager to deepen cultural exchange. ” he said.
Tetiana Hnativ, the Director of Culture Department announced that within the Days of German Culture in Lutsk and Ukraine together with the German Embassy in Ukraine and German Community in Lutsk an interesting project would be implemented in our city. “From October 25 to November 8 in our city there will be a variety of thematic events - film screenings, drawing contests, flash mobs, theatrical events. Through traditional culture, folklore, contemporary music, ethnicity and jazz we will continue to build bridges of friendship in a modern format,” she emphasized.
Head of the Education Department Zynoviia Leshchenko noted that the city's students are active participants in all projects which are implemented by the Assosiation. Lutsk schools cooperate with German schools.
The participants of the meeting discussed the directions and prospects of cooperation between Lutsk City Council and the Asossiation "Bridges of Friendship to Ukraine" in particular in educational and cultural areas.
