The city of Lutsk celebrated its 935th anniversary
On September, 12 a solemn Academy at the Theatre Square on the occasion of 935th anniversary of the first written mention of Lutsk got together local residents and guests of the city to celebrate the Lutsk City Day.
Local celebrities, including priests, the Head of Volyn Regional Council Iryna Vakhovych, the Member of the Parliament of Ukraine Iryna Konstakevych, the Secretary of Lutsk City Council Hryhorii Pustovit, the First Deputy Mayor Hruhorii Nedopad, Deputy Mayors Iryna Chebeliuk and Kostiantyn Petrochuk, Deputy Mayor managing the Executive Committee Affairs Iurii Verbych, Advisor to the Mayor Ihor Polishchuk, members of Volyn Regional Council, Lutsk City Coucil, members of the Executive Committee, ATO and JFO participants, honourable city residents and former Mayors of Lutsk took part in the festivities.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic preventive measures, our dear friends, neighbours and partners couldn’t participate in this year celebration. Nevertheless, we received a lot of sincere congratulations and best wishes of peace and prosperity to Lutsk city residents.
The solemn Academy began with the welcome speech of the Secretary of Lutsk City Council, Acting Mayor Hryhorii Pustovit, who focused on the main achievements of our city as Lutsk is believed to be a modern, developed and comfortable city. Also, he congratulated everyone on that festive occasion and extended his wishes of good health, joy, happiness, and prosperity and expressed hope that we would successfully overcome all challenges we are facing every day.
All visitors had an opportunity to watch outstanding performances of famous Lutsk singer Halyna Konakh, the Volyn State Academic Folk Choir and the People’s Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Zinkevych.
In the framework of the City Day, the Lesia Ukrainka Central Park of Culture and Recreation was turned into a real art centre. The grand opening of the alley of famous sculptures of Lutsk artist Mykola Holovan took place in the park on that day.
During the evening visitors could watch different fascinating performances in various locations of the park.
