Lesia Ukrainka East European National University
Lesia Ukrainka East European National University is a Lutsk state university of the IV accreditation level. It is located at Voli Avenue 13.
The history of the university dates back to 1940 when Lutsk State Teachers’ Institute was founded. 135 students were enrolled to the first year of studying. Educational process was conducted by 50 professors. Four departments were functioning.
Functioning of the university was interrupted by the war (1941), and was renewed in 1946. In September 1951 starts a new period in the history – pedagogical institute was created on the basis of teachers’ institute, and in a year the university was given the name of Lesia Ukrainka. At that time the university had only two faculties: historical and philological and mathematical. At the beginning of the 90th already nine faculties were functioning at the institute. In July 16, 1993 according to the decree of President Leonid Kravchuk it was created Lesia Ukrainka Volyn State University on the basis of Lesia Ukrainka Lutsk State Pedagogical Institute.
In September 2007 according to the decree of President Viktor Yushchenko Lesia Ukrainka Volyn State University was given a status of national. In August 2012 according to the decree of President Viktor Yanukovych Lesia Ukrainka Volyn National University was renamed in Lesia Ukrainka East European National University.
Now the structure of the university comprises 700 teachers, among them 437 are Doctors and Candidates of Sciences, Associate professors and Professors. Over 13 000 of students are studying here.

Right now six institutes and twelve departments are functioning in the structure of the University.
Lesia Ukrainka East European National University campuses and buildings include: 9 academic buildings, 5 dormitories, library (collection of over 400 thousand publications), 4 museums, sanatorium preventorium and student polyclinic, sports complex and stadium, practice base camp “Hart”.

Lutsk National Technical University
Lutsk National Technical University is a Ukrainian university in Lutsk at the IV accreditation level. It is located at Lvivska Street 75.
The history of Lutsk NTU began in 1966, with the decision of the former Ministry for Higher and Secondary Specialised Education of the URSR, to found a branch of the General Engineering Faculty of the Kyiv Automobile and Highway Institute (now National Transport University) in Lutsk.
In 1975 the branch became the Lutsk affiliate of the Lviv Polytechnical Institute.
In 1985 the departments were reorganized into faculties. The Lutsk Branch of Lviv Polytechnical Institute became the Lutsk Industrial Institute.
On 24 December 1997 a decision of the Council of Ministers changed the school to Lutsk State Technical University. Then, on 11 April 2008, a Decree of the President of Ukraine, gave the university the status of National, and its present name - Lutsk National Technical University.

The university has 7 faculties, 3 centres, 3 colleges, 35 departments. The academic staff of the university includes 451 persons. Among them there are 41 Doctors of Science and Professors, 276 Candidates of Science, 18 Academicians. Nearly 7746 students are trained in a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree.
Lutsk National Technical University has 12 well equipped educational-laboratory buildings as well as a ground and vehicle testing point. There are also two sporting health-improvement tourist inns on the lakes Svitiaz and Pisochne, as well as a sports complex with a gym, two fitness centers and a room for aerobics, 25 – meters long pool and a stadium.
