Improvement of safety of cross-border road infrastructure of Chełm and Lutsk

Project goal: To increase the competitiveness and improve the accessibility of border areas.

Main activities in Lutsk:
- reconstruction of the road on Rivnenska str., arrangement of bicycle lanes and pedestrian sidewalks (section from Zadvoretska str. to Kuprina str.) (0.496 km);
- installation of 629 street lamps on Koniakina str. and Rivnenska str.;
- development and implementation of an automated traffic control system (replacement of traffic lights);
- development of a comprehensive traffic management system in Lutsk;
- holding two meetings in Chełm and Lutsk on improving the transport infrastructure in the partner cities which will encourage cooperation and contribute to the economic development of both cities, opening of the cross-border railway connection Chełm-Kovel with further connection to Lutsk.

Main activities in Chełm:
- reconstruction of the road on Kolejowa str. (1,150 km) from Piłsudskiego Av. to Przemysłowa str., arrangement of pedestrian crossings, bicycle lanes, sidewalks;
- widening and increasing traffic lanes at 2 crossroads: at the crossroad of Kolejowa str.  to Przemysłowa str., as well as at the cross-road of Kolejowa str. and the railway;
- creation of new parking lots;
- modernisation of street lighting;
- modernisation of sewage system.
