Declaration on Enhanced Cooperation dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Lublin-Lutsk Partnership

On 29 September Declaration on Enhanced Cooperation was signed between the cities of Lublin and Lutsk. The event was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Lublin-Lutsk partnership and took place within the framework of V Eastern Europe Initiatives Congress, which was held in Lublin (Poland).

For several years Eastern Europe Initiatives Congress has been the place for meeting of  specialists in the field of cross-border cooperation and has become a dialogue platform for representatives of culture, education, arts, government, local governments. The event aims to promote implementation of joint projects.

Addressing the audience, Lutsk City Mayor Mykola Romanyuk stressed the importance of cooperation between Lublin and Lutsk. He said that during last 20 years the friendly mutually beneficial relationships have developed between our cities, many joint projects and experience exchange trips have been implemented.

The main purpose of the Declaration, signed by Lutsk City Mayor Mykola Romaniuk and Lublin City Mayor Kszysztof Żuk, is to support the direct contacts and exchanges between residents, local communities, organizations and entities from both cities and to keep friendly relationships for the future generations of our cities, states and Europe.

 

Lutsk and Lublin have developed fruitful cooperation in project activities and have implemented 2 joint projects within the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2007-2013.

Under the project “Improvement of administrative services delivered to the population of cross-border regions through a network of centers providing administrative services and cooperation development between Lutsk center for administrative services, Ivano-Frankivsk center for administrative services and citizens of Lublin Service Bureau” the furniture and equipment for the Centre of administrative services delivery in Lutsk were purchased, new information and consultation centre for foreign nationals was opened in CASD, the translation of information cards into Polish was carried out, the experience exchange trips were organized.

Under the project "S.O.S. – Safe Coexistence of People and Homeless Animals in Polish-Ukrainian Border Territories: Lviv, Lublin, Lutsk, Ivano-Frankivsk” design and project documentation for future sterilization center for homeless animals was developed, equipment and medicine for identification and sterilization of homeless animals were purchased.
