Delegation from Lippe District paid a visit to Lutsk

During 16-18 April 2015 the city of Lutsk has been hosting the delegation of the Lippe District of the Federal Republic of Germany headed by the Landrat of Lippe District Friedel Heuwinkel, which is a partner of Lutsk under the Memorandum on Cooperation dated 26.11.2014. Among the delegation members there was also the Head of German organization “Bridges to Ukraine” Karl Herman Krog, who has personally contributed much to the development of German-Ukrainian relations and mainly to the establishment of partnership linkages between the Lippe District and the city of Lutsk.
During their stay in Lutsk the delegation members visited Lutsk industrial enterprises, which are perfect examples of successful involvement of foreign investments: “Kromberg and Shubert” and SKF “Ukraine”. The delegation also visited the Centre for delivering administrative services, Department of State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Volyn region, got acquainted with the cultural and historical heritage of Lutsk.
Guests were impressed by the hospitable acceptance in the Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European University, where the teachers and students presented their institution and students shared their experience of internship in Germany, organized by the German organization “Bridges to Ukraine”.
The delegation visited Lutsk gymnasium # 4 which has been maintaining friendly relations with the Technology college of Herford of the Lippe District since the year of 2003. The cooperation consisted mainly in holding exchange visits for Lutsk and Herford students and the teaching stuff. The gymnasium administration organized an excursion along the school premises with the youngest pupils presenting their school in German.
During the meeting in Lutsk City Council Mayor of Lutsk and the German delegation expressed willingness to deepen current relations as well as outlined the main directions for the future cooperation. The most promising and important spheres for cooperation were designated as follows: youth exchanges, culture, sport, health care, energy saving, tourism, collaboration of small and big enterprises, exchanging experience regarding functioning of administrative bodies, local government.
