Delegation from Lublin paid a visit to Lutsk City Council
Our city is hosting an official delegation from the partner city, Lublin, Republic of Poland, comprising the director of the Non-investment Projects Department of Lublin city office, Krzysztof Łąntka, and the Project Coordinator of the Department, Tetiana Myrovych. Lublin city office initiated the meeting that took place before the introduction of a new program on technical support from EU to Ukraine, Poland and Belarus for 2014-2020.
The Ukrainian party was represented by the Deputy Mayor of Lutsk Taras Yakovlev, heads of the city council executive authorities in economics, health care, education, tourism, culture, youth, sport, social security, energy preservation, and specialists in charge of the projects preparation within the executive authorities, as well as the coordinators of the projects that are being implemented by Lutsk city council.
Within the introduction of the Strategy for Territorial Cooperation of Lublin, Krzysztof Łąntka elaborated on the plans regarding the Strategy development, and shared the experience of realization of international projects of Lublin with the Ukrainian partners. The Deputy Head of the International Cooperation and Project Activities Department, Tetiana Lenartovych, made a presentation on the City Council results on project activities. Thereafter, the participants discussed the burning issues of Lutsk that can be resolved within the international cooperation with the help of the resources from a new EU budget for 2014-2020. Krzysztof Łąntka expressed the belief that the ideas, which were presented by our city, will not only become a part of the Strategy for Territorial Cooperation of Lublin, but will also become a foothold for the mutual Polish-Ukrainian projects for co-financing from the EU funds.
At the end of the meeting Deputy Mayor of Lutsk Taras Yakovlev expressed his gratitude to the guests for the visit they paid and expressed hope that our cities will further develop the partner relations and expand the cooperation in project activities.
Miscellaneous. The Executive Committee of Lutsk Сity Сouncil implements together with Lublin city office 2 projects within the Cross Border Cooperation Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2007-2013, which is financed from the EU funds:
- S.O.S. – safe coexistence of people and homeless animals in Polish-Ukrainian border territories: Lviv, Lublin, Lutsk and Ivano-Frankivsk;
- Improvement of administrative services delivered to the population of the cross-border regions by means of establishing a network providing administrative services and cooperation development between Lutsk center for administrative services, Ivano-Frankivsk center for administrative services and Lublin Service Bureau.
