Delegation from Lutsk City Council took part in VI Eastern Europe Initiatives Congress

Delegation from Lutsk City Council took part in VI Eastern Europe Initiatives Congress that took place in Lublin during September 25-26. The official delegation from Lutsk City Council included: Member of Lutsk City Council Maya Shostak, Acting Head of International Cooperation and Project Activities Department Victoria Homonets and Head of International Relations Division of International Cooperation and Project Activities Department Anna Vintsiuk. The representatives of higher educational institutions, public organizations and associations of our city and member of Lutsk City Council Oleksandr Lazuka also took part in the event.

The Eastern Europe Initiatives Congress is a great initiative of Lublin City Administration that brings together partners and guests and creates platforms for communication, exchange of experiences, working out joint decisions. During the inauguration ceremony Lublin was presented the Prize of Europe - the highest award of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for active promotion of the European ideal.

This year Congress gathered the participants from Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Kazakhstan, diplomats, scientist, public figures, and journalists. The honorable guest of the event was the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars Refat Chubarov, who performed with an inaugural speech and reminded everyone of the importance of maintaining peace in Europe. Professor Jerzy Buzek, Member of the European Parliament, Prime minister of Poland 1997-2001, Speaker of the European Parliament 2009-2012 performed with a lecture on the future of the European Union and relations with the countries of Eastern Partnership.

For participants of the Congress the organizers prepared interesting reports and panel discussions on topics of international cooperation, attraction of grant funds, tourism, innovation development, public services, decentralization, politics and security issues.
