Delegation from Poland inspected reconstructions in Lutsk zoo
On April 23 it was organized a meeting of Lutsk, Zamość and Rzeszów project teams within the framework of implementation the project “Modernization of Zoological Gardens in Zamość and Lutsk and Development of a Concept of Establishing a Recreation Zone in Rzeszów in Order to Develop Cross-border Qualified Nature Tourism”. The project received funding from the Cross Border Cooperation Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2007-2013.
Lutsk City Mayor Mykola Romaniuk welcomed guests in Lutsk and conveyed his thank you to the Polish partners for the opportunity to implement the joint project. In his turn, the President of Zamość Andrzej Wnuk expressed the confidence that the project will be successfully finished and it will be possible to continue work in other areas, for example concerning the construction of recreational zones. After the official greetings the participants started presenting the results of implemented activities within the project in Lutsk, Zamość and Rzeszów. Later participants of the meeting visited Lutsk zoo and inspected the state of construction the town for lions and bears, zoo’s landscaping.
Furthermore, taking into account a successful cooperation within the project, Lutsk City Mayor Mykola Romaniuk and the President of Zamość Andrzej Wnuk signed the Declaration of deepening cooperation. In particular, the Declaration states: "To continue the joint work on the development of recreational zones and zoos in the partner-cities; to provide search for external funding, primarily from the European Union funds with the aim of developing the further common activities." It is expected that the President of Rzeszów Tadeusz Ferenc will join this initiative because Lutsk, Zamość and Rzeszów are partners of the same project.
