Lutsk City Council delegation has visited the partner city of Kyjov in the Czech Republic
On 16-18 August 2024, official events and working meetings were held in Kyjov (Czech Republic) as part of the annual Kyjov Summer Festival. At the invitation of Kyjov City Administration, the official events on this occasion were attended by a delegation from Lutsk City Council, which included Borys Smal, Director of Economic Policy Department, Viktor Chubko, Head of International Cultural Projects and Programmes Division of Culture Department, and Yuliia Lypka, Senior Inspector of Project Activities Division of International Cooperation and Project Activities Department.
As part of the visit, the delegation had a meeting with the leaders of the Czech city to discuss possible areas of further cooperation between Kyjov and Lutsk. During the working meeting, three main mutually beneficial areas were outlined, namely education, culture and entrepreneurship. The educational direction can contribute to the development of educational programmes, exchange visits of students and mutual learning. Cooperation in the cultural sector will initiate support for cultural groups, folklore and art projects. And business cooperation will provide an opportunity to create joint initiatives to support small and medium enterprises, as well as arrange business exchanges.
The programme of events included a study visit to the renovated sports and recreation centre "Aquapark Kyjov", where the delegation of Lutsk City Council had the opportunity to learn about the experience of Czech partners in the development of recreational areas. The modern multifunctional complex was created by upgrading the existing outdoor swimming pool and building a new indoor swimming pool. The sports and recreation centre occupies a favourable location in the central park and harmoniously combines modern design trends with functionality, creating comfortable conditions for leisure and sports.
This visit contributed to the strengthening of sister city relations between Lutsk and Kyjov, opening up new horizons for joint initiatives.
