The delegation of Lutsk City Council took part in conferences in Belgium

As part of a working visit to Belgium, a delegation from Lutsk City Council headed by Deputy Mayor Iryna Chebeliuk took part in the European Summit of Regions and Cities on 18-19 March in Mons. The delegation from Lutsk also included Anna Vintsiuk, Head of International Cooperation and Project Activities Departament, and Oleksandr Lazuka, a member of the City Council.

During the panel discussions of the Summit, speakers talked about the importance of cohesion policy, green transition, digitalisation, support for youth and gender policies. In particular, the panel discussion "Ensuring a decentralised reconstruction process in Ukraine" was aimed at the role of local and regional authorities in reconstruction of Ukraine as well as promotion of a decentralised approach.

On the 20th of March, representatives of Lutsk took part in the 10th Forum for Interregional Cooperation "Europe Let's Cooperate!", which took place in Antwerp. The event announced the launch of the third call for proposals of the Interreg Europe program. Much attention was paid to the accession of seven new countries to the programme, including Ukraine. The forum discussed the terms of the programme, the pecularities of preparing project applications as well as tools for finding partners.

The programme of the event also included studio visits. Representatives of Lutsk visited the port of Antwerp, that is the second largest in Europe. The participants of the studio visit learnt about the history of the port development, innovative environmental approaches and digital solutions used in its operations.
