The delegation of the City Council has visited partner Kreis Lippe
On 13-14 September, representatives of Lutsk City Council visited Kreis Lippe (Federal Republic of Germany) in order to mark the anniversary of the sister city partnership between Lippe and the cities of Chodzież (Poland) and Kaunas (Lithuania). At the invitation of Landrat Dr. Axel Lehmann, the official events on this occasion were attended by Nataliia Yurchenko, Director of the Legal Department, Yurii Hordiichuk, Head of Project Activity Division of International Cooperation and Project Activity Department, and Yuliia Babych, Head of Tourism Development Division of the Tourism and Promotion Department.
The official opening of the events with the participation of foreign delegations took place at the District Council of Detmold. After the welcoming speech by Landrat of Kreis Lippe, representatives of Kaunas, Chodzież and Lutsk made presentations about their cities and their tourism potential. Representatives of Lippe Tourismus & Marketing GmbH company presented the tourist attractions of Kreis Lippe.
Study visits were organised for the delegations to the Detmold Open-Air Museum and the Senn Nature Area, a unique region in Germany. The latter is distinguished by its local biodiversity, which was formed as a result of glacial melting and various geological processes. The area, which has been landscaped with around €12 million in funding, is part of a large-scale nature conservation project aimed at preserving and restoring the remnants of the natural landscape, where it is possible.
The programme also included a visit to the Climate Centre in Erlinghausen. Interactive exhibits demonstrate the impact of human actions on our planet and allow for a deeper understanding of the causes and consequences of global warming. Thanks to various simulations, visitors can, for example, extinguish a forest fire or regulate greenhouse gas emissions.
During the meetings, representatives of Lutsk discussed with their partners in Kreis Lippe the prospects for further cooperation, in particular, the development and implementation of joint grant projects.
