Energy Day in Lutsk and Official Presentation of the Energy for Eastern Mayors (E4EM) project
On November 7 Lutsk Sustainable Energy Day-2014 took place. It was organized within the framework of the Covenant of Mayors, which Lutsk signed in 2009. The goal of Energy Day was to raise awareness of the community on the Sustainable Energy Action Plan and the “Energy for Eastern Mayors” (E4EM) project implementation. Another important vector of work was getting acquainted with the activities of international financial institutions in Ukraine and studying their financing energy-efficient projects' experience. The event was visited by the representatives of Bolognia University (Italy) which are coordinators of the project E4EM, representatives of the USAID project “Municipal Energy Reform in Ukraine”, representatives of budgetary institutions, utility providers, condominiums, commercial structures, potential partners, NGOs, media and public.
After the round table there was an opportunity to examine pilot project activities implemented within the framework of NEFCO project “Implementation of energy saving measures in budgetary institutions of Lutsk”. This project was implemented in kindergartens №21, №11. Among the other objects which were inspected there were: condominium in Vidrodzhennia Av. 22a; kindergarten №7 (pilot project “Energy for Eastern Mayors”; Lutsk center of primary health care (conducted energy efficiency measures were funded from the city budget and with funds from the sale of quotas under the Kyoto Protocol).
