Experts of Council of Europe discover Lutsk intercultural index
Experts of Council of Europe Ksenia Hovanova-Rubicondo and Fil Wood visited Lutsk on 1-4 July. They discovered the level of interculturality of Lutsk, communicated with representatives of national and religious communities and authorities. Within visit they met with the Secretary of Lutsk City Council Hryhorii Pustovit, First Deputy Mayor Hryhorii Nedopad, heads of departments and representatives of executive bodies of Lutsk City Council.
In 2011 the Ukrainian platform of intercultural cities was created. It consists of 11 cities, including Lutsk. This project gives an opportunity to use experience of intercultural relations for social and economical city development and is aimed to teach the city how to benefit from intercultural diversity. Program concept determines the level of interculturality of the city. This year the program celebrates the 10th anniversary.
Experts of Council of Europe will analyze the information and present the detailed report to the Council of Europe, based on the data, received in Lutsk. Further, depending on these results, the intercultural index of Lutsk will be determined.
