First Deputy Mayor Taras Yakovlev met with the newly assigned Consul General of the Czech Republic in Lviv Pavel Pešek
On 13 December 2016 Pavel Peshek, Consul General of the Czech Republic in Lviv, and Igor Shedo, Deputy Consul General for culture, education and economy, visited Lutsk. The guests were met by First Deputy Mayor Taras Yakovlev, Head of International Cooperation and Project Activities Department Kurkova Vira and Head of International Relations Division of International Cooperation and Project Activities Department Anna Vintsiuk.
Pavel Peshek said that the scope of his powers extends to the territories of Lviv, Zakarpattya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Volyn, Rivne and Chernivtsi regions. He was paying visits to these regions. He had already visited Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattya regions. Within the visit to Volyn region he met with heads of Regional State Administration, Regional Council, Chamber of Commerce and communicated with representatives of the Czech diaspora.
The sides discussed the possible directions of cooperation. Pavel Peshek assured support in developing cooperation in the field of culture, education, business between Volyn region and the Czech Republic. Pavel Peshek declared his readiness to contribute to enhancement of cooperation between Lutsk and its Czech partner of Kyjov.
In conclusion, the First Deputy Mayor Taras Yakovlev thanked guests for their visit and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.
