Iryna Chebeliuk Has Met with French Volunteers

Deputy Mayor of Lutsk City Council Iryna Chebeliuk has met with representatives of the French volunteer organization «French Civil Protection» Marc-Antoine Baku and Virginia Bido-de-l 'Ile to discuss humanitarian needs of our community.

«French Civil Protection» is a specialist in providing first medical and psychological aid. Since the beginning of the russian war against Ukraine, the organization volunteered to support our country. In particular, they have sent 14 thousand of pallets of humanitarian aid: medicines, hygiene products, sleeping bags, mattresses and sleeping pads.

Iryna Chebeliuk thanked the organization for support and noted that our community has been coping with daunting tasks that the war brought about. «We have already accommodated a large number of internally displaced people and the presence of Belarus as a neighboring country has forced us to be ready for any development of events. We have been holding a couple of pre-medical as well as self-defense training courses since March. Offline classes at schools were resumed in September and we intend to hold similar courses there», Iryna Chebeliuk mentioned.

She has also noted that our community is willing to cooperate with foreign organizations that are ready to provide their training courses for students.

For reference: «French Civil Protection» is a French volunteer organization that has been operating since 1965. In 2018, the number of volunteers was 32,000 people.

The organization is state certified for four types of volunteer missions:

- management of first aid centers;

- first aid training;

- humanitarian and social support;

- emergency and disaster response.
