Resolution
of Lublin City Council
of March 13, 2014
about the situation in Ukraine
With respect to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, Lublin City Council, solidary with the citizens of this nation who stand on their right to decide their own future without outer interference, expresses the strong support of the democratic striving of the Ukrainian people on the basis of indispensable human rights and the rights of nations for self-determination, liberty, statehood and independence.
At the same time, we call all the parties of the conflict for a constructive dialogue, aimed to regulate the conflicts peacefully for the renewal of stability and opportunity for the further development of Ukraine.
Our cooperation with the partner cities in Ukraine has always been a priority in the sphere of international relations. This cooperation has resulted in the realization of a number of mutual projects by our governments, schools and cultural establishments. On the basis of this positive experience, we appeal to the government of the Republic of Poland for the provision of Ukrainian political and economic development with the broadest support possible.
We also appeal to our inhabitants, organizations and entrepreneurships for the support of Ukrainian citizens who need help in this hard time.
Piotr Kowalczyk, the Head of Lublin City Council
