Lutsk is awarded the Plaque of Honor of PACE
For active promotion of the European idea and propagation of European unity Lutsk is awarded the third of the four rewards of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe – the Plaque of Honor. Lutsk already has two rewards – the European Diploma (2010) and the Flag of Honor (2011).
Every year the Executive Committee of Lutsk City Council applies to the PACE office to receive the next award. This is the thorough work in English, prepared by International Cooperation and Project Activities Department of Lutsk City Council, with description of international and European integration events, implemented in the city during the previous year. Application that covered international activities of Lutsk in 2016 was approved for awarding the Plaque of Honor.
The achievements of Lutsk City Council, municipal establishments and organizations, educational institutions, city enterprises in attracting grants, investments, establishing international contacts, enhancing relations with foreign partners – these are the constituents of the high estimation of PACE.
Lutsk is looking forward to the official public ceremony of receiving the award. The event is planned for 25 August 2017 – the Day of Lutsk City. The Plaque of Honor will be presented to our city by a member of Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development or an honorary member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
