Lutsk delegation participated in the festivities on the occasion of the Day of Białystok

On 24-26 June 2016 in Białystok (Poland) which is a partner-city of Lutsk it was held festivities on the occasion of  the City Day. Lutsk official delegation was represented by Deputy Mayor Andrii Kytsia, Head of Lutsk municipal enterprise "Lutskspetskomuntrans" Valerii Kuzmych and Specialist of International Cooperation and Project Activities Department of Lutsk Сity Council Oksana Savchuk. In general, there were 9 official delegations that came to Białystok.

In Białystok foreign delegations were offered to visit a modern waste incineration plant, which is the pride of the city. EU investments were attracted to its building. The plant was putting into operation at the end of the last year. Now it serves the city completely, it means that municipal waste, not longer recycled, is not exported to landfills but is incinerated. The electricity and thermal energy produced during that process are directed to the needs of the city residents. Employees of the enterprise told the background of the plant building and conducted an interesting guided tour. The delegation from Lutsk established contacts with the plant leadership, discussed the possibility of the future cooperation within the projects.      

The next day the festivities on the occasion of the Day of Białystok started with a fair of local enterprises, festival of hurdy-gurdy , concerts of local bands. Besides, hosts of the event organized the international picnic where the consulates and foreign delegations that are located in Białystok were represented. Each diplomatic institution presented its country with the promotional materials and national cuisine.   

Within the framework of the visit, it was organized the official reception by the President of Białystok Tadeusz Truskolaski which took place at the Branitski Palace.

The event was visited by the foreign guests, diplomats, MPs, businessmen, heads of educational institutions.
