Lutsk establishes partnership relations with the Slovakian city Svit
The delegation from the city of Svit (the Slovak Republic) headed by the Mayor Mr. Miroslav Shkvarek visited the city of Lutsk and Lutsk City Council in particular.
Welcoming the guests, Lutsk City Mayor Mykola Romaniuk wished them the pleasurable and interesting stay in Lutsk. He noted that the active development of international cooperation is taking place in the city. Lutsk has 16 partner cities in 9 countries of the world, with which it cooperates in various areas. However, there wasn’t established any friendship relations with the cities in the Slovak Republic before. Mykola Romaniuk stated that the local authorities are interested in cooperation with the city of Svit in the field of culture, youth exchanges, business etc.
The City Mayor of Svit Miroslav Shkvarek admitted that Lutsk is a beautiful city. He stressed that mutual meetings are very important, because they help to build partnership relations, erase borders. Mr.Mayor noted that the city of Svit doesn’t have so many partner-cities as Lutsk. However, the city is open to cooperation and implementation of the joint projects with Lutsk.
Concluding, Mykola Romaniuk and Miroslav Shkvarek signed the Memorandum on Cooperation between Lutsk and Svit.
