Lutsk has a new partner-city
Today Lutsk City Mayor Mykola Romaniuk participated in celebrations on the occasion of the Days of Chelm.
A solemn signing the Agreement on Cooperation between the cities of Chelm and Lutsk took place during Lutsk City Mayor’s official meeting with the President of Chelm Mrs. Agatha Fish.
It is expected that the document will promote development of cooperation in the fields of education and bringing up; culture, sport, tourism; environmental protection and forming environmental awareness in the community; architecture and building development; health care and social aid; local government.
Cooperation between organizations, entrepreneurs, funds, NGOs, organizing common events according to the legislation of Poland and Ukraine was declared as well.
It is also planned to realize exchanges of official delegations of local governments, businesses, educational institutions, cultural and sports institutions with the aim of studying the mutual experience in management, development of national and cultural backgrounds; activization of citizens participation in public and political life; supporting initiatives of the Polish minority in Ukraine and the Ukrainian minority in Poland, aimed at the development of national cultural traditions and mother tongue.
