Lutsk municipal economy workers adopt Polish colleagues practices in waste management
On 20-19 March Lutsk representatives of municipal economy visited the workshop in Chelm (Poland). The event was organised within the framework of the project "The growth of municipal services as a part of well-balanced development of Polish – Ukrainian borderland cities ", which is co-financed by the European Union funds under the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2007-2013.
This was the first seminar of 6 planned, the subject of the event – "Waste management – ways of implementing rules and regulations of the European Union in Poland and Ukraine." Participants had an opportunity to listen to lectures of Olgerd Bielak, who was speaking about the principles of waste management in the EU member states and sourses of its funding.
Parallel to the workshop the meeting of experts in housing sphere took place. Polish and Ukrainian experts agreed on further cooperation, identified the main problems of the area that will be discussed during the next seminar in Lutsk.
The official delegation also had a study visit to Chelm cement plant, where they learned the history of the institution, stages of its development. Aditionally there was a tour to the line of alternative energy sources processing.
