Lutsk music bands “Fiolet”, “Replay” and theatrical studio “Harmyder” took part in Rzeszów festival “Colours of cross-border area”

“Colours of Cross-border Area (Barwy prykordonia)“ is a modern cultural festival that combines nowadays trends with the folk traditions of border areas, however, first of all – it combines two cultures: Polish and Ukrainian. It took place in the end of August in Rzeszów on the avenues near Wislok. The organizer of the festival was Rzeszów City Council.

This festival was a joint initiative of three cities (Rzeszów, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lutsk) that cooperate with each other for quite a long time within the framework of the project “Joint cooperation network within culture and welfare on behalf of the development of the cities of Polish-Ukrainian borderland.” that is financed by European Union. The festival consisted of various concerts, artistic performances as well as theatrical plays. The main idea of the festival was to present the variety of modern Ukrainian culture and help the initiatives, which connect artists from Poland and Ukraine.

On the festival, which was held in 2014, Lutsk was represented by various artistic groups. First of all, on 28 August the theatrical troupe “HaRmYdEr” presented a few different performances, in particular, their famous play “Mysteries of love”. Ruslana Porytska, artistic director of the theater, said, that this play did not need any explanations; this was like a ceremony – bare, gorgeous, optimistic and mystical. The play consisted of three stories that told us about love.

Apart from theatrical performances, guests of the festival were able to listen to various music groups. On 29 August such young Ukrainian music bands as Riplei, Fiolet, Tsvit Kulbaby and Korali appeared on the stage and filled the avenues of Rzeszów with the sounds of rock, pop and ethno-funk. Some of the songs were particularly familiar to guests from Lutsk, because Riplei and Fiolet are quite famous rock bands from the center of Volyn region.
