Lutsk City Council joined the celebration of International Open Data Day
Every year, at the beginning of March, events dedicated to International Open Data Day take place in various corners of the world to encompass a wide range of practices and perspectives on working with open data for the benefit of society. In 2025, this day emphasizes addressing the most pressing contemporary issues, including not only climate justice. Therefore, the theme of this year's events is associated with polycrisis—the interconnection between poverty, multiple inequalities, violence and conflicts, climate, and responses to natural disasters.
Our country is going through challenging times. Open data contributes to the creation of services that allow citizens to receive important information related to their safety and comfort. The development of open data is an important part of technological progress and the implementation of innovations.
Today's meeting of the responsible executive bodies of Lutsk City Council for open data with representatives of public organizations is the first step in building an open data ecosystem, combining efforts to collect data, and initiating services for citizens.

Participants of the meeting could hear practical cases of applying open data from Anna Denysenko, curator of the NGO "LUN Misto" city services and research project. Valuable advice on building an open data ecosystem, ensuring its quality, and applying artificial intelligence technologies was provided by open data expert Nadiia Babynska.
An important part of the discussion was the opinions of representatives of public organizations of Lutsk City Territorial Community. In particular, Taras Pakholiuk, head and city planner of the NGO "Misto.Reboot," emphasized the importance of implementing initiatives related to urban infrastructure and collecting data on its condition. Lidiia Hontar, project manager of Urban Vision Lutsk, the "Algorithm of Actions" platform, stressed the importance of ensuring data quality, adhering to standards, and the accessibility of information on the geoportal of Lutsk City Council. Taras Datsiuk, graphic designer, architect-urbanist of the NGO "Misto.Reboot," shared his vision regarding cooperation with public organizations and the use of shared data.

Building an open data ecosystem is impossible without considering the needs of citizens and businesses. This will allow combining efforts to create convenient and useful services that will enhance the comfort level of life in our community. Such an approach is an excellent example of the Win-Win strategy applied by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, which promotes sustainable development and mutual respect among all participants in the process.
We sincerely thank all participants of the discussion for their active stance and hope for the successful creation of a sustainable and effective open data ecosystem!
