Discussing the project "The growth of municipal services as a part of well-balanced development of Polish – Ukrainian borderland cities" with colleagues from Chełm (Republic of Poland)
Today, on July 8, Lutsk City Mayor Mykola Romaniuk, Deputy Mayor Taras Yakovlev and Head of International Cooperation and Project Activities Department Vira Kudriavtseva met with the director of the Association of Local Governments Euroregion BUG (Holm, Poland) Galina Grabarchuk and her colleagues. Aim of the meeting was discussion of the project "The growth of municipal services as a part of well-balanced development of Polish – Ukrainian borderland cities". The Association jointly with the Executive Committee of Lutsk City Council will start implementation of this project in November this year. The project received co-financing from the Programme of Cross Border Cooperation Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2007-2013 of European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument. Within the framework of the project the Cross-border Municipal Economy Centre will be created in Lutsk. Mission of the Centre is to encourage the development of public service in the city and to involve experience and good practices of Polish colleagues in this field. Budget of the project is 303 445.76 EUR, including direct grant to Lutsk 61 887.82 EUR.
