Meeting in Zamość within Polish-Ukrainian project on zoo modernization

A working meeting was held in Zamość on August 21-22. It was organized in the framework of the project “Modernization of Zoological Gardens in Zamość and Lutsk and Development of a Concept of Establishing a Recreation Zone in Rzeszów in Order to Develop Cross-border Qualified Nature Tourism” of Cross-border Cooperation Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine2007-2013, funded by European Union. During the meeting partners discussed details of the project implementation extension for 6 months, as it is the essential condition for the successful project implementation for both Ukrainian and Polish sides. As for reconstruction in Lutsk - work will start in September and in a year must be successfully completed. Within the project the following work will be done: building of the bear and lion town with enclosures, swimming pools, area for walking, indoor observation terraces, seting lighting and surveillance cameras, replacing and laying new networks, improving of the whole zoo territory.
