Lutsk City Mayor met with the participants of the First European Educational Summit
On 2-5 October the First European Educational Summit took place in Lutsk. The event was initiated by the Lutsk Modest Levytskyi Gymnasium # 4 of Lutsk City Council and was held under support of Department for Education and Science of Volyn Regional State Administration and Department for Education of Lutsk City Council with participation of Lutsk natural lyceum # 7, Lutsk school # 25, Lutsk Training and Rehabilitation Centre, Lutsk Gymnasium # 18.
The theme of the Summit was “Role of international cooperation in providing integration of the Ukrainian national system of education into international educational space”.
On 4 October Lutsk City Mayor Mykola Romaniuk met with the participants of the Summit. The event was attended by Miroslav Oleinyk – Deputy Mayor of Bartoszyce district, Zbigniev Petshak – the Head of the Union of Upper gymnasium schools #2, member of Warminsko-Mazurskie voivodeship Council (Poland), Gela Dzhaparidze – director of the School # 10 in the city of Gori (Georgia), Gaike Shmits-Ibeling – director of the School “Friedenstahl” in the city of Herford (Germany).
The meeting began with the speech of the director of Gymnasium # 4 Olexander Myshkovets. He marked that while communicating with the schools directors from other countries together they came to conclusion that day after day they face the same challenges, solve similar problems. Thus the main idea of holding the Summit was to discuss the issues on international integration of the system of education, as well as correctional and educational work in the institutions.
Lutsk City Mayor greeted the Summit participants and strengthened on the enlargement of this kind of events, as Lutsk has many partner-cities abroad, such as Lublin, Toruń, Zamość, Rzeszów, Białystok, Olsztyn, Trakai, Kyjov, Patras Xiangtan, Gori, Brest. He proposed to involve all those cities to participate in the Summit in future.
