Lutsk City Mayor Ihor Polishchuk has met with Doug Burleigh, Co-Chairman of the Committee of the USA National Prayer Breakfast, and Mykhailo Zhovnir, Coordinator of the National Prayer Breakfast

Today, on the 2 of November, Mayor Ihor Polishchuk met with Doug Burleigh, Co-Chairman of the Committee of the USA National Prayer Breakfast, and Mykhailo Zhovnir, Coordinator of the National Prayer Breakfast.

The City Mayor informed the guests on the life of our community in wartime, the aid provided to internally displaced persons and assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. “I express my gratitude and respect to all Americans for the support they provide’’ noted Ihor Polishchuk.

 

Mykhailo Zhovnir highlighted that Lutsk is the initial city where Americans stayed in Ukraine. Being hosted by Lutsk holds immense personal honor for him since his early life began in this vicinity, having been born near Lutsk. For the last 20 years, he has been living in the US and representing Ukrainian Diaspora in the USA. In addition, Mr. Mykhailo is the founder and coordinator of the Ukrainian meetings of the U.S. Congress National Prayer Breakfast. He pointed out their dedication to supporting Ukrainians and commitment to providing assistance within their means.

 

Doug Burleigh, on his part, mentioned feeling a strong sense of belonging in Ukraine, citing the numerous friendships he has cultivated here. He further assured of his support and affection for Ukraine.

Mayor Ihor Polishchuk extended gratitude to the guests for their visit, support and aid.
