Strengthening Cooperation between Lutsk City Territorial Community and International Partners
Lutsk City Mayor Ihor Polishchuk, during a working visit to Washington, D.C., together with the Mayor of Kent (Washington State, USA), Dana Ralph, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
The ceremonial signing took place at the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA with the participation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the USA, Oksana Markarova, and the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Seattle, Valerii Holoborodko.
The Memorandum outlines cooperation between the cities of Lutsk and Kent in the fields of education, culture, economic development, public works, and technology.
The residents of Kent have consistently supported Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The city is home to one of the largest Ukrainian communities in Washington State – according to the latest estimate, approximately 9,000 people out of a total population of 140,000.
Mayor Ihor Polishchuk is confident that the mutual commitment to fostering friendly relations will benefit the communities of Lutsk and Kent, and together, they will manage to implement many valuable initiatives and interesting projects.
