Secretary of Lutsk City Council Ihor Polishchuk met with Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lutsk Wiesław Mazur
Recently an experienced diplomat Wiesław Mazur was appointed to the position of the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lutsk. And today the secretary of Lutsk City Council Ihor Polishchuk met with the newly appointed Consul General.
At the beginning Ihor Polishchuk congratulated Wiesław Mazur on the assignment on such a high position. He noticed that Lutsk City Council has closely cooperated with the Consulate General for long years and expressed hope for further deepening of relations.
Wiesław Mazur thanked for the meeting. He assured that they are open to the dialogue and are always ready to help in all the beginnings. He also added a few words about his diplomatic career. According to his words, he worked in different institutions of Republic of Poland in Ukraine. In particular, in 2014 – Wiesław Mazur worked in the consulate of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. At that time it was the only institution representing the EU in Crimea. The Consul General congratulated Ukrainians on receiving visa-free regime that is the next step to the EU.
Victoriia Homonets, acting Head of Department of International Cooperation and Project Activities, informed about cooperation of Lutsk with Polish partners. In particular, our city has 7 partner cities in Poland. She added that together with Polish partners Lutsk introduced 7 grant projects within the Program of the Cross Border Cooperation Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2007-2013 and now is preparing projects for the new Program of the Cross Border Cooperation Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020.
