State Communal Enterprise “Lutskteplo” in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development implements “Project on modernization of the district heating system in Lutsk”

Lutsk City Council, State Communal Enterprise “Lutskteplo” and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development were working together for approximately two and a half years to obtain loan and grant funds for the modernization of the city’s heating system.

On October 24, 2014 two agreements on 14 000 000 were signed at the session hall of Lutsk City Council. The agreements concern with the implementation of the Project on modernization of Lutsk central heating system: “Loan agreement between State Communal Enterprise “Lutskteplo” and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development” and “Grant Agreement between State Communal Enterprise “Lutskteplo” and Lutsk City Council and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in respect of an investment grant from the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership Fund for the Lutsk District Heating Project”.

The participants of the event were Lutsk City Mayor Mykola Romaniuk, Director of State Communal Enterprise “Lutskteplo” Oleksandr Kyrychuk, EBRD Director in Ukraine Sevki Acuner, Principal Banker at EBRD     Daria Kochubynska, Head of Economic Cooperation, Social and Regional Development Section of EU Delegation to Ukraine Juana Mera Cabello, Lawyer at EBRD Ksenia Ostrovska, members of City Council, heads of Lutsk City Council Departments.

 Thanks to the EBRD loan the number of the following events will be done: decommissioning of basement boiler houses and buildings connecting to the total heating system, old boilers replacement, formation of dispatching centre for remote control and heating monitoring.   

Lutsk City Mayor Mykola Romaniuk presented guests the commemorative coins "Heavenly hundred" released by the National Bank of Ukraine.

EBRD Director in Ukraine Sevki Acuner expressed his gratitude for the gift and emphasized that Europeans were worried about the events having taken place at the Maidan and are extremely upset with the current situation in Ukraine.
