Visit of Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany representatives
Head of Culture, Education and National Minorities of Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine Christian Gattendorf met with Deputy Mayor Andrii Kytsia, Head of Culture Department Tetiana Hnativ, Head of Education Department Oleh Hrebeniuk, Head of Division for Family and Youth Oleksii Veremiichyk, acting Head of International Cooperation and Project Activities Department Victoriia Homonets and coordinator of the union “Bridges to Ukraine” in Lutsk Oleksandr Mishchuk. The sides discussed new opportunities for cooperation between Lutsk City Council and Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine, in particular, potential cooperation in the spheres of education, culture and work with national minorities in Lutsk. Andrii Kytsia informed that Lutsk maintains partnership links with Lippe District in Germany. He told about recent project, implemented with the union “Bridges to Ukraine” (Germany) under the title “Youth Exchange - a Digital Bridge between Germany and Ukraine in 2016”. The project was financed by Federal Foreign Office of Germany. Under the project an exchange visit for pupils of Lutsk Gymnasium # 4 to partner school Friedenstahl in Herford took place and the digital bridge between partners was created through videoconferences, website; 2 computers were bought for the school in Lutsk Eastern-Ukraine partner city of Volnovaha. Victoriia Homonets apprised that currently 2 projects are being jointly developed with Lippe District within the programme financed by Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation. The projects concern experience exchange and waste management. Oleksandr Mishchuk underlined the existing fruitful cooperation with the union "Bridges to Ukraine", which is headed by respected in Volyn region Karl-Hermann Krogh. For many years the union has introduced support for medical and educational institutions in the city and region. Christian Gattendorf indicated that they are opened for further cooperation and realization of projects.
