Visit to partner city of Chełm to develop joint cross-border projects

On 13 October the official delegation, headed by Deputy Mayor of Lutsk Yurii Moklytsia, visited the partner city of Chełm (Poland) to discuss the preparation of applications for submission to the contest of Cross-border Cooperation Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020.

Vice President of Chełm Józef Górny greeted the participants of the working meeting on development of cross-border projects. He emphasised that he expects the positive results of joint work in the future because of the previous successful experience of project implementation in the field of housing and communal economy. In particular, he underlined the utmost interest of Chełm city administration in development of projects in the spheres of culture, tourism, housing and communal services, homeless animals care.

Deputy Mayor Yurii Moklytsia in his turn assured that Lutsk City will make every effort to prepare qualitative applications in order to succeed in receiving grant funds for solving the problems of city development.

The format of the meeting included work in groups according to the particular fields. Members of the working groups - representatives of Chełm and Lutsk cities - discussed the vision of the future projects, outlined the key activities, determined the financial inputs of each of the partners and confirmed the basic stages of applications development.

The programme of the delegation's stay envisaged also visits to the objects, which are planned to be modernized under the future projects. The aim of the visits was to demonstrate the problems and needs which Chełm representatives will try to respectively solve and satisfy with the financial support of the new Cross-border Cooperation Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020.

In conclusion, the both sides wished each other successful fruitful cooperation and expressed confidence that joint work on future projects will make our cities closer and will establish new and deepen existing contacts.
