Amendments to the Public Transport Development Programme of Lutsk City Territorial Community
At the session, the deputies adopted a decision "On Amendments to the Public Transport Development Programme of Lutsk City Territorial Community for 2023-2027". This decision aims to comprehensively address current passenger transportation issues and provide community residents with high-quality, environmentally friendly, and modern transport services.
The need to amend the Programme arises from Lutsk City Council's obligations to co-finance the project "Ukraine Urban Public Transport I". This will help attract new opportunities to upgrade the city's transport infrastructure. The changes include the purchase of 30 modern trolleybuses, 24 of which are without autonomous operation and 6 with full autonomous operation.
An important aspect of the Programme is the renewal of the city's overhead line network by constructing a trolleybus line that will connect the Bearing Factory neighborhood with Lvivska Street, as well as upgrading existing lines and reconstructing switches.
These measures will allow replacing low- and medium-capacity buses with electric vehicles, renewing existing trolleybuses that have reached the end of their service life, reducing carbon dioxide and other chemical emissions, relieving the city center of buses with internal combustion engines, and optimizing trolleybus schedules and routes.
This decision is an important step towards the sustainable development of public transport in Lutsk. It will help improve the quality of life for community residents and provide comfortable and accessible transportation for everyone, including people with reduced mobility.
